Expanding an active Montessori campus required careful phasing to keep the school operating safely throughout construction. Southway coordinated the work around daily campus activities, maintaining normal drop-off and pick-up patterns while delivering improvements across multiple areas of the property.
The project included new classrooms within the Elementary Village, demolition and reconstruction of the multipurpose building, and extensive renovations to the school’s historic dairy barn. The barn was transformed to include new administrative offices and classrooms, along with a new stairway and elevator to improve accessibility. Southway also completed extensive structural repairs to existing trusses that had sustained fire damage nearly 40 years earlier.
Through detailed planning and close coordination with school leadership, Southway successfully managed the phased construction while preserving the character of the historic property and supporting the school’s continued growth.
