Creating an outpatient oncology suite required balancing the complex needs of patient care with the day-to-day demands of the clinical team. Southway completed the interior build-out for Duke Cancer Institute’s Outpatient Oncology Suite, bringing treatment, infusion, clinical, and support spaces together in a cohesive environment.

The suite includes exam rooms, treatment rooms, a medication room, and infusion bays supported by three large workrooms and additional nurses’ stations. Multiple offices, touchdown areas, equipment zones, and a large centralized nurses’ station provide the clinical and administrative support needed for efficient care delivery. At the front of the suite, a spacious reception area includes a large lobby, two waiting areas, and four check-in and check-out stations.

The completed suite provides Duke Cancer Institute with a dedicated outpatient setting that supports efficient clinical operations while creating a welcoming environment for patients and their families.
